The “Rumor Mill” on the Xoom

At this year’s CES Motorola won “Best of Show” with its new Xoom device.  Since that moment the world has been searching for more news about release date and pricing.  Rumors abound:  Wi-Fi only or 3G?  What month will it be available?  How much will it cost?  No official news from Motorola…yet- although we have seen various “leaks” posted by engadget and zdnet.

Here’s what we do know so far:  during Motorola’s earnings call CEO Sanjay Jha announced that Xoom would definitely be released by end of February.  Motorola has also released a fact sheet for the Xoom which can be viewed here .

Other than that all we have are leaked screenshots stating that Verizon will price Xoom at $800 minimum and that Best Buy will release the Droid on 2/17 for $700.

Stay tuned for more news as the rumors develop and Motorola releases more information!   In the meantime, would you buy the Wi-Fi only version or is 3G a must?  Post your response in the comments below.
