Motorola Xoom update starts tonight, prepares tablet for Flash 10.2

Xoom Flash update tweet caption.

A fix to the Xoom’s lack of Flash support may be just around the corner, as Motorola has just announced via Twitter that a software update will be rolled out over the air tonight in phases. This update will prepare the tablet to support Adobe Flash 10.2 and will resolve Daylight Savings Time issues. The launch date for Flash has yet to be announced, though, so keep in mind this does not mean that you will have Flash tonight. It may take a few days for the update deployment to be completed, so don’t be too alarmed if you have not received the prompt yet.

If your Xoom is unlocked/rooted, it needs to be restored to factory standards and re-locked; otherwise the device will not receive the notification.

Visit the Motorola Forums and Developer’s website for more information on this update and instructions on how to re-lock your Xoom.

(Thanks to our reader Randy for the heads up.)
