Please enjoy my video blog on picking up my Motorola Xoom and Motorola Xoom Accessories! I had planned to release this video earlier but life got in the way.
I would like to add that everyone at Best Buy; the staff was very knowledgeable and eager to help. I had a wonderful experience with Erin, a wireless consultant for Best Buy, who was able to help me with the best Xoom accessories and talked me into the geek squad black tie protection plan to keep my Xoom safe from my children!

What to expect on your receipt:
Did you get your Xoom yet? Did you go to Verizon or Best Buy? How was your purchase experience? Let us know!

I had a different experience with my local best buy. Stopped in on the 17th to reserve my device. I got a bit of runaround as I was first sent to the mobile phones, then to computers, where noone knew how to sell a pre-order. After about a half hour of searching the employee was able to sell me a pre-order gift card.
When I returned on the 24th to pick up my unit I got the same runaround (computer department sent me to mobile, who sent me back to computers.) After 20 minutes they told me they had sold the last unit and didnt have my pre-order. They refunded my gift card in cash, but still a frustrating waste of time which left me with limited confidence in Best Buy.
My experience at the Verizon store was not much better. Lots of employees in the store (two greeters, and two Xoom demonstrators) but no available sales people to give sell me a unit for 20 minutes. When I finally got someone to help, he really had little product knowledge. I asked for a No-contract unit which confused him (I guess he is used to selling phones.) He rang up a 2-year contract, which caused problems because I was using gift cards and he had to void the initial purchase. Of course, gift cards require 48 hours to get credited, so I had to pay with other means and wait for the funds to be free on the gift card. Another hour wasted, but at least I have my device which I am enjoying.
Of course I was forced to buy a month of data, even though I plan to use Wi-Fi only, so now I have to deal with VZW to get a refund on that purchase.
I feel like a bit of a tool, which is unfortunate because I had pretty thoroughly researched it and knew exactly what I wanted.
Didn’t buy any accessories.
Chibby – thanks for the response! Sorry to hear you got the runaround but I’ll bet you’re glad to finally have your xoom! What xoom accessories are you planning on buying? What other uses are you going to have for the xoom?
