“It’s time for more choices” says the new ad for the Motorola Xoom, a teaser of what’s in store for the Super Bowl this Sunday. Portraying Apple as the Big Brother by way of 1984, the commercial states “2011 looks a lot like 1984″ and then promises more, choices, more flexibility and “more freedom” while showing some of the Xoom key features, such as Android Honeycomb, dual cameras and 4G speeds. The device itself is not shown in the ad and there’s still no official launch date, but the message is clear: the tablet war is on.

I can’t wait for them to start selling this thing- loved the ad, it addresses many of the reasons why i don’t think i’ll ever buy an Ipad, like the lack of connectivity and flash capability. Nice concept, but you’re stuck always buying in their store… It ends up being a glorified book reader, when you think about it…Not my idea of fun. This one changes all that, giving people the choice to use it whatever way they want, without being chained to a particular brand.
As a side note, this little gadget is going to have more gigs than the computer i had when i lived in the DR, back in 2000. It is insane how much technology has advanced in such a little time, for our own good. Let the war begin
